Okay... I'm getting owned by fic lately. This one is ripping my heart out even more so that Art After 5 did. It has a bit of the feel of Art but goes far beyond the angst level. The fic is called Under the Boardwalk by Robicorn and my heart still hurts even though I got caught up hours ago. This is angst to the highest degree... I begged for updates.
General plot goes like this. Bella meets a boy while in a bar at the start of summer. He is captivated and she is hooked. The problem is that Edward is 24 and our dear Bella is only 17 with a year of high school to go. Edward doesn't want to give up his girl (that he thinks is 21) and so he takes a job at the local high school.

Best AU vamp fic I've read in a long time
I've had more time to read lately which is a wonderful thing :) Today I was owned by And With Thee Fade Away by Derdriu O Faolain.
This was one of the most unique fics I've read in a long time. It had a bit of the original Twilight of course, mixed with some actual Dracula and a dash of Emancipation Proclamation and a hint of Anne Rice with possibly one of the funniest versions of vampire garlic EVER.
The only thing I would say about this was that Edward and Bella aren't incredibly Edward and Bella like. Edward is very very British and while some elements of his personality stay true, many others are very different. The same thing goes for Bella. I loved them both but if you are looking for a cannon Edward and Bella, this is not it. Don't get me started on how NOT cannon the rest of the Cullens are.
Definitely one to take the time to read. It's a completed fic, so no weeks of torture waiting for the next chapter. Go check it out!

The Lost Boys
Okay, I know I've horribly neglected my blog but I haven't' been doing much fanfic reading lately. Today however I sat down and read through one of the many many fics on my long list of recommended pieces and I was completely blown away. Today I tackled hwimsey's The Lost Boys.
I was completely floored by this amazing work. It has a bunch of elements that you just wouldn't think would work well together but for some reason are absolutely amazing. This tells the story of three boys in a band together who end up sharing a Victorian house with our three favorite girls. The romance that ensues would be predictable except for the fact that Edward and Bella are drawn to each other in a way that doesn't seem quite sane. Then the ghosts show up and you begin a wild ride to find out that their lives are much more connected than they seemed.
I would suggest dropping what you are doing, click on the link and read this fic. It is definitely worth the time and energy.

Awesomeness
Okay, I don't normally do this but I found a site this week that I'm in love with. If you haven't found these girls yet, you are missing out completely. The site is called Fic Pushin' and they tackle some of my favorite fics and have turned me on to some new ones (one of which is below). Their podcasts are hilarious and they really get in depth on the fics they feature. I like their straight to the vein series where they spend the whole time in depth on one fic. Definitely go check these ladies out. The only con I could find is that there seems to be a lot of Jacob love going on but other than that ;)
Okay, I just found this fic late last night... I'm over 30 chapters in and I'm completely enthralled. These characters are so powerful and strong. I think her Bella is a very cannon Bella. I wouldn't say that the rest of the family is quite cannon but you see the core of their character coming through for the most part. The only one who is necessarily different is Carlisle but you'll see why. This story does deal with the issue of human trafficking, so if this is a sensitive topic for you, don't read. I would say this is looking like it's going to be an NC-17 but since it's not rated on the site, I'm not entirely sure. I would give it that rating for the language alone. The story is the amazing Emancipation Proclamation by kharizzmatik and I suggest that you drop everything and read now ;)

Couple of new finds
Okay I haven't had a whole lot of reading time on my hands lately but I've come across a couple of stories that must be read...
Million Dollar Baby by clpsuperstar- This is a completely smut fest so I warn you now... if you aren't okay with that, this is NOT the story for you. However, if you are- then read on ;) Bella sells herself as a sex slave to pay for her mother's heart transplant. Who buys her? Edward of course ;) This one definitely earns it's NC-17 reading though...
Pen Pals by Wendy73- I have to rec this fic. It is one of the best peices I've read in a while. It's orginal and has someserious thought put into it. The writing is very engaging and it's a great story. It makes me sad to say that this is getting very little attention. Please go take a look and review. The author really deserves it.

One of the best
I stumbled on one of the best completely unnoticed stories I've ever read and I just had to take a break from my crazy first week of school and tell you all about it :)
Forsaken in My Mind's Past bye RobsMyEdibleArt/WickedCurveBall74 - This story is full of angst, joy and lots of confusion. Bella rushes into a marriage with someone after her boyfriend cheats on her. Ten years later and Bella must decide what to do when she realizes that she never got over her first real love. Who will she choose?
This plot line has been done before - but not like this! Definitely worth the time to read through it. This story is also on ff.net and you can find it - here!

Back to School!
In honor of the fact that I go back to work this week (I'm a teacher). I am bringing you you some of the best school related Twilight fanfiction out there!
1. Ethics Be Damned by krazyk85 - This little gem has Bella the undercover cop falling hard and fast for gorgeous teacher Edward! Her partner Alice isn't immune either when she meets a certain Mr. Whitlock. Great story currently at it's climax and the world's worst cliffie! Definitely worth the read!
2. Student Liaison by Missile-proof_glass - This one is only a few chapters in and tells Edward's side of the story when Edward's family forces him to go back to the charade after leaving Bella. Little does he know who's class he's going to end up in... This story also comes in a Bella version called Teacher's Pet which is a bit further along!
3. Naughty Secrets by A Little Distracted - Mousy librarian Bella has a secret. She also has a secret crush on gorgeous English teacher Edward. Edward has a secret obsession. Definitely worth the read and definitely all adult - so you kids who ignored the warning on my blog - this one's not for you!
4. Lessons in Forbidden Love by xsecretxkeeperx - In this all human story, hot young teacher Edward tries not to fall for his beautiful sweet young student Bella Swan but can't seem to resist her. How do they deal without ruining them both? Simple story line beautifully executed!
On that note, these will be my last recommendations for a couple of weeks at least due to my crazy work schedule. Once I get settled into things, I should have more time and get back to telling you about the best fanfiction available!
